Mr. P's Challenge 19

If I could ban anything in the world, I would ban exams. I would ban any form or type of exam. Exams are the worst and most painful torture that we children go through. I think that the work that e do throughout the year is the only thing that actually matters. It is hard work that counts. Projects and other graded assignments during the school year actually show your knowledge, understanding and attitude better than exams. I am a very bad exam taker. I get really nervous, which makes me forget everything I learned, and therefore I fail. Exams ruin and destroy all the hard work you did throughout the year. One test cannot determine if you learnt anything that school year. It is very unfair. Exams should be just 5% of our grades, because it is not like we can pull up that grade ever again. There is only one grade that goes into that category, and this can be bad for bad test takers like me.

Even other exams should be banned. Especially the Standardized Aptitude Test. This test title has lost its meaning. The SAT is a pointless exam which is required if you are going to a college, especially in United States of America. Your SAT score doesn’t say anything about you as a person. Colleges don’t even know if you took the test or someone else took it for you. They just assume you took it. There so much cheating that comes from these tests. Colleges have actually caused all this. Why should everyone take this test? People give this test again and again, until they get a good score. What is the point of this? Colleges should look at other things in students. If we took the SAT then why should foreign students take the Toefl exam too? If we can take the SAT, I think we know how to speak and write in English. It doesn’t make sense. Exams are useless, and it doesn’t let students be creative. Everyone is doing the same thing. They are all conforming to society.
