Mr.P's Challenge 25

46. If you had a day to spend as you wish, how would you use your time? (Carleton College)

If I had a day to spend as I wish, I would make sure 80 percent of that day involves sleeping. The other 20 percent would be eating and talking to friends. As an eleventh grader I do not feel like I am getting enough sleep. I am always sleepy in classes, and in the weekends I have too much work to even think about sleep.
My day would somewhat like this:
·        Wake up in the morning or rather extremely late morning.
·        Eat my breakfast or lunch, whatever you want to call it
·        Watch T.V
·        Sleep
·        Wake up again and eat dinner (really good dinner)
·        Then watch a late night movie, while eating bread with mango pickle.
·        Then sleep at night

This might seem like a really dull plan, but trust me, when you have a research paper and an exam due on the same day, along with other smaller projects on the way, this plan will seem like heaven on earth. Writing this itself is part of the smaller projects. Students my age are overloaded with work. If you are a teacher then you would probably respond to this by talking about how college is worse and that you are preparing us for the ‘real’ world. Firstly, I do not understand why your school life is excluded from the ‘real’ world. Every experience you have is a piece of the ‘real’ world. Secondly, let us find out if colleges are worse or not. Teachers use that excuse to dump work on students. Although teachers have good intentions for giving homework, I think they need to think about our health too.

Life is unfair, and I know everything I suggested in the paragraph above will be ignored anyway. Therefore If I had a day to spend as I wish I would definitely spend it as I described it in the beginning.
